Boracay Island is a nice and amazing place to enjoy,
but please beware on some tiny matter to avoid your happy and enjoyable holiday turn sad or unhappy.
We're here provide some important information and things that you need to be aware on it,
so that you won't feel being cheated or misunderstand instead.
Season of Boracay Island
Boracay Island is open for tourists all year long, and you can decide or plan when you going to travel to Boracay, where you wanted to enjoy more crowded environment or more peaceful less tourists season.
High Season : November - December

Travelling Suggestion:
- You can come with your lovely partner, friends or families.
- 2 person (Couple, best for honeymoon)
- 4 person - 8 person (Small Group)
- 10 person - 16 person (Medium Group)
- 20 person - 30 person (Big Group)
- 5 days including departure day is just nice
Try to avoid big luggage bag, just nice if you have only flight cabin size luggage or backpacker luggage.
Because you find the weather is hot and is not so convenient for you to carry big size luggage bag moving around. Especially you need to take airport transfer to the terminal port and from terminal port to the Island.
Thurs, you need to pay the people who help you to carry your luggage bag as tipping.

How to reach Boracay Island?
You will be experiencing Air Transport, Land Transport and Sea Transport in a day.
So prepare yourself for the long journey of departure to Boracay.
Choose your Air Transport (Flight Carrier)
There is 2 airport for travelers to reach Boracay Island,
- Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (know as Caticlan Airport)
- Kalibo International Airport (most flight landed airport)
Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (know as Caticlan Airport) is the most nearer to Boracay Island,
but there is only Philippine domestic flight carrier route between Manila and Caticlan.

- Philippines Airlines PAL
- Airphillexpress
Kalibo International Airport have more international flight carrier direct route,
but there is a distance where you need airport transfer for your journey.
Below table is international direct flight to Kalibo International Airport,
Please check the weekly schedule for particular airlines.
For AirAsia flight from KLIA 2 is only 1 trip Daily in the morning 10:30am (KUL) & 03:05pm (KLO)
For Tigerair flight from Changi Airport is only 1 trip on Monday, Wednesday, Friday & Sunday.

- AirAsia from (KUL) KLIA2 to (KLO) Kalibo Flight journey is 4 hours.
- Tigerair from (SIN) Changi to (KLO) Kalibo Flight journey is 4 hours.
During your flight journey, the flight attendant will issue you 2 small piece card:-
- Immigration arrival card
- Health declaration checklist,
You need to fill with all your information and ready for your arrival. You need to submit the Health Declaration checklist upon arrival when you entering the arrival hall. The immigration arrival card will be collected by the immigration officer when they releasing you to enter by stamping your passport.
Normally tourists will be given 29 days tourist visa to enter Philippine.
When your flight landed at the airport, you will need to carry your belongings and walk to the arrival hall, meanwhile you can have a chance to take a quick snap with the flight, but must be fast or else the ground crew will come after you. (right of the picture).Once you come to arrival hall, you need to queue for immigration release, the hall is small and only 3 - 4 immigration office to stamp your passport, so please be patience and wait for your turn, and remember STAND BEHIND the yellow line.
After releasing of immigration, you can collect your check-in luggage and walk trough the custom check, they do not have X-Ray scanner so they will ask you to open up your bag and check sometimes. They are currently renovating expending the airport, so hopefully will turn all facilities better and improve the speed of releasing progress.
Once you exit the airport, there is 2 things you will be aware.
- Philippine prepaid sim card for internet
- Airport transfer to Boracay Island
Local Prepaid Internet SimCard
There is 2 main local operators which is GLOBE and SMART.
For my personal suggestion GLOBE network is more stable than SMART network,
but it is also depending on the area in the island, and almost the whole island is covered.
There is 2 type of choice:-
- 5 days internet access = Peso 300
- 3 days internet access = Peso 200
Airport Transfer (Land Transport Transfer)
There is a lot of sales people holding board writing Peso 200 or Peso 250 for transfer,
Please aware that all of that is just transfer from the airport to the jetty port terminal ONLY !!!
Because you need to pay for environmental fees and terminal fees when you are at the terminal port.
-Terminal Fees = Peso 100
-Terminal Fees = Peso 100
-Environmental Fees = Peso 75
-Boat to Island = Peso 250
-Transport to hotel = Peso 20 - 100 (Depend on area)

For walk-in travelers there is a company SOUTH WEST, booth located right in front of the exit of the airport.
- One Way = Peso 650
- Two Way = Peso 1,125

Island Transfer (Sea Transport Transfer)
After 2 hours journey, you will arrive at Caticlan Jetty Port Terminal. You will need to carry all your own belongings and go trough luggage X-Ray scanning process when you enter to departure hall. At the departure hall, you need to register for entering the island before you boarding to your boat, just send anyone of you to be representative if you are in group or either one of you if you are couple.
if you are NOT paying for package earlier in Kalibo Airport Land Transfer.
Please note you need to pay for terminal fees, environmental fees and boat fare,
Follow the arrangement of the staff and boarding to boat or ferry,
It take about 15 mins - 20 mins to reach at Cagban Jetty Port (Boracay Island).
When you arrive at Cagban Jetty Port, it mean you had arrive at Boracay Island,
The staff will be arrange the transports according to your hotel location and send you to your hotel doorstep. If you pay for Two Way package, they will pick you up at your hotel on the day you check out, they will wait you at your hotel lobby and pick you up 6 hours before your departure flight at Kalibo International Airport.
If you are NOT paying for package earlier in Kalibo Airport Land Transfer,
You need to look for your own transport or the local tricycle to reach your hotel,
Price is depending on your hotel location.

Finally you had arrive at Boracay Island after a long journey.

Check Out (Departure/Return Journey)
Boracay holiday had come to the end and advisable to pack up your belongs 1 night before you check out.
For Two Way airport transfer package, the staff will pick you up 6 Hours before your flight departure.
The itinerary of return is just the same, you need to take Land Transport and Sea Transport to reach Kalibo Airport.
When you come to Cagban Jetty Port, there is few local jetty crew will carry your luggage bag to your boat or ferry, they will follow your boat or ferry and guard your luggage bag until your reach at Caticlan Jetty Port, so you need to pay them tipping accordingly to "Claim" back your luggage bag.

When you arrive at Kalibo International Airport, you can walk opposite the airport to have your lunch.
Because the check-in counter open 2 hours before flight departure.
Please remind that you need Peso 700 per person for Terminal Fees after you check-in at respective airline counter. You will need to pay the terminal fees at a counter before you heading to immigration counter.
This terminal fees is compulsory for all international tourists as airport tax.
This terminal fees will be the last expenses of your holiday trip in Boracay.
